Gallery: Fernanda Marques’ Green...

And the home has a small energy footprint thanks to natural and energy-efficient LED lighting

At 2,228 square feet, the home is fairly large, but Marques has done a fantastic job of making sure that this footprint is not destructive to the natural environment. Both the exterior paneling and interior finishings are comprised of recycled wood, as are many of the furnishings scattered throughout the home. New contemporary fixings such as the crazy stainless steel sculpture in the kitchen accentuate the natural materials while adding much needed storage space. Tall windows bring in all kinds of natural light and soft LED lighting further reduces the amount of energy required to run the house, which we are positively drooling over. Wouldn’t you agree?
