Gallery: Finnish Artist Jaakko Pernu Uses Tree Branches To Make Huge Pu...

Jakko Pernu´s land art are large scale and inspired in the artist´s childhood while growing up in rural Eastern Finland.

Jaakko Pernu’s environmental sculptures are inspired by the artist’s experiences growing up in Finland, where he was always helping his father build boats, manipulating wood into organic shapes. That experience with creating elegant shapes shows in his large environmental sculptures. Pernu’s favorite working material is locally-sourced willow branches, which he weaves with his own hands. His sculptures can resemble parasols, spinning tops, and other geometric shapes.
