Form and Forest is the brainchild of brothers Jeff and Ryan Jordan, where Jeff owns and runs a prefab manufacturing company in the Calgary area and Ryan is an industrial designer. The designs for the cabins were created by D’Arcy Jones Design and include five different cabins based on prefab, flat-pack design methodology. The cabins are named after outdoor and frontier themes like, the Cowboy, Lookout, Ranger, Settler and Trapper, and they come in sizes as small as 400 sq ft up to 1500 sq ft.

After selecting the cabin of your dreams, the home will be manufactured in Calgary and packed flat to minimize on shipping costs and environmental impact. Included in the delivery are prefabricated panelized walls and all the components needed to build the structure, along with siding, doors, windows, roofing materials, and some interior finishes. The cabins are even fairly reasonably priced at around $100 per sq ft or less depending on what cabin you choose. Of course that doesn’t include site work, permitting, or construction, but for a prefab home, the costs are reasonable.
