I really do applaud Sir Richard Branson’s Philanthropy and humanitarianism. Also, his steps to make air travel and space exploration with less carbon footprint is a step that I hope other private and federally funded companies follow.

Just one thing … I was just about to sign up for a flight since I have 200K burning a hole in my pocket when I read that the new $209M Virgin Galactic Gateway will be funded by US Tax Dollars. It seems as though something slipped under the radar since a privately funded company received a serious chunk of the people’s change for it’s headquarters.

What does it take for someone, here in America, to have federal funds “donated” to their privately funded venture? I feel that as an architect, I am doing what I can to make the world a better place, yet 30% of my paycheck floats away to places such as this Galactic Gateway.
