Goodesign by BestUp Creates a Go-To for Sustainable Design and Food at the Milan Furniture Fair

  • Goodesign at Bestup during Milan Design Week
    Every year <a href="http://www.bestup.it/new/index.php">Best Up</a> hosts a show at the <a href="http://www.inhabitat.com/milan-furniture-fair">Milan Furniture Fair</a> focused solely on sustainable design. While past exhibits have been on the small side, this year their project '<a href="http://goodesignfuorisalone2012.tumblr.com/">Goodesign</a>' was packed to the brim with fresh ideas. Co-curated with <a href="http://www.cuccagna.org/portal/IT/handle/?page=homepage">Cascina Cuccagna</a> in the Porta Romana Design district, the exhibit boasted more than 50 companies and designers who covered everything from green living to mobility to food.     3.0 is a stool developed by <a href="http://www.nuup.it/">nuup</a>. The piece employs a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life-cycle_assessment">life cycle assessment</a>, and features only three wood components for a smart structure that makes no waste during production. The stool can be flat-packed, is lightweight, and is easy to assemble.

    Green Wall, Green Bench and Green Bookshelf are part of a series of outdoor furniture designed by <a href="http://www.dpustudio.it/">Luca Pegolo</a> for <a href="http://www.nautinoxliving.it">Nautinox Living</a>. The set combines storage space, seating and plant life in a very practical and beautiful way.
