Gallery: Gorgeous Green-Roofed Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama See...

The building is also well lit

The gorgeous building holds a 450 seat chamber recital hall, a 180 seat theater, 4 rehearsal studios, an exhibition gallery, foyer, terrace, and a cafe bar. It was specifically designed to have excellent acoustics, but also to establish an iconic civic building for Cardiff.

Both the building’s heating and cooling is sourced from the ground, significantly reducing its reliance on traditional energy sources, and it is well-lit and ventilated. A green roof that is not easily visible in the images has a great effect on the microclimate while adding insulation value, rounding out the qualities that are likely to help Cardiff’s newest building achieve BREEAM Excellent.
