We talk about green cars all the time, but this is ridiculous! It seems that quite a number of people have taken to covering their cars in astroturf, sod and actual grass – but why? And is there any actual environmental benefit to this bizarre practice? If you know, please enlighten us!

We suppose it’s possible that some of these people have simply stopped driving and have repurposed their rides into gardens. Yet another explanation might be that the grass keeps the car insulated in some way, allowing for more efficient air conditioning and heat (this is a stretch). It’s also very possible that these people are just bored, in which case, we hope that the astroturf they are using is recycled at the very least.
