TRANSGLASS RECYCLED GLASSWARE

One of out all-time favorite eco designs, Tord Boontje’s line of recycled glassware makes a perfect holiday gift. The beautiful transglass tumblers, vases, and carafes are all recycled from wine and beer bottles from the restaurant industry, which have been cleaned and re-cut into new shapes. Best of all, TranSglass’ Guatemalan fair-trade production process allows the glassware to be produced at a low cost, keeping prices surprising affordable. So even though TranSglass is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, you can still purchase some of your own for under $30 – and know that your money is supporting artisans in Guatemala. Eco-friendly, fair-trade, beautiful, and affordable — could it get any better than this? $24 from Re:Modern
