Gallery: Green-Roofed Floating House b...

In order to maximize views of the adjacent Bukhan River.

Made from black concrete to give the building a “heavy” presence requested by the lady of the house, it is set up on stout pillars. This creates shaded space below, in addition to elevating the magnificent view. The green roof features a bevy of flora that look more like a forest from afar, but creates yet another sacred space from which to admire the natural surroundings. The interior of the home is also quite stellar, with a staircase that acts as a giant funnel pouring daylighting throughout the home.
