Gallery: Greenbuild 2010 Kicks Off Next Week in Chicago!

Attention green building aficionados!

If you can’t make it to Chicago for the Greenbuild conference next week, don’t panic — we’ve got you covered! We’ll be walking the expo hall, hitting the presentations and talking with some of the top green builders and provocateurs in order to uncover the latest and greatest products, projects, and people at the world’s largest green building event. And the USGBC‘s motto this year? “Generation Green: Redefining Our Future - if you are a regular reader of Inhabitat then you know this means you.

Greenbuild returns to Chicago with double the space they had when it was last hosted by the city in 2007. Thousands more had shown up than anticipated in 2007, and this year, even in a down economy, enthusiasm is high. With over a hundred learning opportunities and a sea of vendors, the conference goes beyond an education in LEED standards and applications. Among the speakers will be Natural Capitalist’s Paul Hawken, Treehugger’s Graham Hill, and Inhabitat favorite Mitchell Joachim.

Sure Chicago has more LEED buildings than any other city in the nation — and a vaunted green roof initiative, arts, seminal institutions and culture — but it’s also a town that hosts a bold vision for a more sustainable future. We hope to see big ideas from this huge event and we’ll keep our green radars up on the trade floor as we report from McCormick Place.
