Gallery: Handmade Star Trek Coffee Tab...

Star Trek fans can now boldly go where no interior decorator has gone before with this geek chic coffee table that looks just like the USS Enterprise! Designed and constructed by Barry Shields, the Trekkie table was handmade from ash, poplar and cherry wood and took over a month to build – read on for a closer look!

The base of the Star Trek table was designed to portray the ship in orbit over a planet, and the whole piece has been given a beautiful rubbed finish for complete protection. Barry even cut the glass surface to make the ship “look as though it’s in motion”. As the piece is hand made, it comes with a pretty steep price – $3,100. However, with the craftmanship that Barry has given the table, it is sure to live long and prosper for many years to come.

Important Geek Fact: Please note that the USS Enterprise portrayed as the table is the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C as seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise”. So, it’s not Kirk’s ship nor Picard’s, but Captain Rachel Garrett’s. Take heed.

Heh! At first I thought “Hey, this looks like the Enterprise-D!” Then I saw the thumbnail, and realised “Oh wait, that’s actually the Enterprise-C! Huh…”
