STEP FIVE: SHAKE YOUR BOOTY

Remember those caps you set aside? Time to restore them to their rightful place on top of the glass jugs. Take each jug, which now contains juice, yeast, sugar, and spices, turn it upside down and give it a good shake for about 30 seconds to a minute. You want to make sure all of the sugar and yeast is dissolved and the spices well incorporated throughout. Do your happy dance.

    Is there any reason I couldn’t just use a 5 gallon carboy for making this recipe ?
    I will be using fresh apples from my trees.

    apologies if its in the article and I missed it but make sure if you are buying cider from the store that it doesn’t include potassium sorbate. that is a yeast inhibitor and if your cider has it in it then the yeast can’t do its work.
