Gallery: Ikea Launches New Solvinden W...

We’ve covered Ikea‘s solar powered lamps in the past, however the Swedish purveyor of affordable design just launched a brand new line of Solvinden lights that are powered by the wind as well as the sun! Designed by David Wahl, these brilliant outdoors products will provide a source of free LED light for years as they harvest energy from the sun and the prevailing winds.

Ikea‘s Solvinden line features freestanding and hanging lamps with white or colored recyclable polypropylene shades that creates playful light effects when they rotate with the wind. They have no cables, last around 2,000 hours, and when fully charged they give off light for about 12 hours. Ikea’s new sun and wind-powered lamps sell at an affordable price point, are made from recycled materials, and use zero electric energy.

I am in love with the new Solvinden solar/wind pendant lamp BUT it is not availble in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and at this time not on-line for purchase. Is there somewhere where I can buy it? Or on line where I can pay shipping charges? Please let me know.
