Today marks the start of the 2011 Solar Decathlon in Washington DC, and 19 teams from around the world have unveiled innovative sun-powered projects in a bid to create the most affordable, efficient, and strikingly designed house. We had a chance to take a first look at all of this year's homes this week, and we've assembled a great series of photos for each of the projects currently standing in the National Mall's West Potomac Park - hit the jump for our exclusive pics!

    make more cheep cost solar houses so that the energy consumption from the other resourses will lower and donate these houses to peoples they are under poverty level
