Sixteen of the teams are from American universities or colleges. We have affectionately nicknamed SCI-Arc's house the "puffy house," as it creatively wears its insulation on its exterior. The home is actually called CHIP, which stands for compact hyper-insulated prototype, and it is designed to challenge every architectural and engineering preconception about zero energy homes.

    make more cheep cost solar houses so that the energy consumption from the other resourses will lower and donate these houses to peoples they are under poverty level

    We’re thrilled the UMD team is leading the pack. They smartly chose Miele appliances for their home! The induction cooktop was especially of interest. Thanks for following this very cool iniative!
