Noon Solar built these bags using first rate materials with sustainability in mind – Founders Jane Palmer and Marianne Fairbanks wanted to make sure that the bags would be non-toxic to the environment so they are made from hand-dyed hemp and vegetable-tanned leathers. Even the solar panels and battery packs can be removed and recycled. Leather’s not the worst thing they can use – I’d expect a of fabric bags have a lot of non-biodegradable plastics and PVC and the ilk… Though the other downside to leather is that it really drives up the price so its out of reach to a lot of people, especially non–fashion guy types.
