Japanese Artist Creates Tasty Vegetable Weapons to Show the Stupidity of War

    Japanese artist <a title="Japanese Artist Highlights The Stupidity of War Through Tasty Vegetable Weapons" href="http://www.ozawatsuyoshi.net/" target="_blank">Tsuyoshi Ozawa</a> travels around the world collecting local foods and assembling them into tasty <a href="http://www.ozawatsuyoshi.net/works/vegetable-weapon/">Vegetable Weapons</a>! The aim of the project is to comment on the stupidity of war and violence in a healthy way that is also full of flavor. Carrots, leeks, courgettes, onions and mushrooms -- among other greens -- are sourced locally, tied up into the shape of weapons, photographed, cooked and shared with everybody involved.

    Since 2001 Tokyoite Tsuyoshi Ozawa has been making portraits of women holding vegetable weapons in many countries around the world including Iceland, Uganda, China and off course Japan.

    He first finds his local model and asks her to gather the vegetables and other ingredients needed to create recipes typical of their culture.
