He uses local trees that been dead for at least three years, cuts them, strips the bark off and use fire to create the legs.

Belgium designer Kaspar Hamacher works from his primal instinct when creating his spectacular wood furniture pieces. Dubbed ‘Ausgebrannt’ (‘Burnt Out’), his collection of wooden tables and stools were created using what one could easily call a ‘non-traditional’ working technique: fire sculpting. The son of a forester, Hamacher was born in the middle of the woods where he today finds the raw materials for creating his honest, rough and one-of-a-kind designs.
