Located within Thailand’s Koh Kood Island and steps away from the sea, this gorgeous learning ‘den’ was made by 24H-architecture in collaboration with local firm Habita architects. Measuring 540 square feet, it shelters an auditorium for films, lectures and plays. The space also featues a library with permaculture and local traditions books, and an art, music and fashion room for entertaining and creation.

A sleeping pod for toddlers was also designed on-site, while outside there is a vegetable garden where children can learn about where their food comes from. The learning center was constructed from Thai bamboo, and the interior is made from River Red Gum wood that was harvested from a local plantation and rattan structural elements. The dome is shaped like a Manta ray not only for aesthetic reasons; it acts like a big umbrella providing shade and protection from the heavy rains, while allowing a natural airflow and plenty of natural light in.
