Hysan Place is the first LEED Platinum pre-certified building in Hong Kong. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Hysan Development Company Limited, the mixed-use retail and office tower is located in the heart of the city. The tower's LEED Platinum pre-certification status means that USGBC pre-approved the design team's plans, and if the building was built according to spec, it would in theory achieve actual certification. The 36-story tower features natural ventilation, daylighting, sky gardens and a host of other energy-efficient strategies.

Many of the floors and spaces were configured to be flexible to provide more office or retail space as needed.

The tower features a number of cut outs that have been designed as open-air sky gardens that are accessible by the public and employees. These sky gardens provide greenery as well as access to air, which creates natural ventilation throughout the rest of the tower.

Kohn Pedersen Fox designed the tower for energy efficiency by providing access to daylighting throughout the building. They also sought to reduce operational CO2 emissions and create a suitable and healthy working environment.

The project is the first to receive LEED Platinum CS pre-certification in the city, which is an indication of the project's sustainable design. With this pre-certification, Hysan Development Company Limited is able to advertise the planned sustainable features to potential renters and clients.
