To give the structure a traditional feel, Lim stretched orange nylon sheets over the tiered roof to imitate <a href="http://inhabitat.com/beijing-infrastructure-crippled-by-worst-flooding-in-60-years/beijing-flooding/">the ancient palaces of Beijing's Forbidden City</a>.

The theatre also has colorful fabric signs mounted on bamboo scaffolding which face out onto the street.
