Gallery: Herman Miller Showroom First to Earn LEED Platinum-CI

Herman Miller’s Los Angeles Showroom is the first to earn LEED CI Platinum in Los Angeles, and was only the 47th LEED CI Platinum project worldwide at its completion. The interior renovation to a former 1956 warehouse required special consideration by architecture and firm TVS Design to earn such high sustainable honors. More than 20 percent of all the building materials used in the project were manufactured within 500 miles of the site, and more than 85 percent of all construction waste was recycled and diverted away from the Landfill. Lead architect, Steve Clem, identifies the building’s energy performance as a key factor in earning a Platinum certification. In addition, the project also earned LEED EB Gold for all the structural, mechanical and exterior work done by Lynch Eisinger Design.
