Gallery: Nanjing, China Master Plan Co...

A plan for the transportation interchange at one of the city centers.

The new city is set to be built on a combination of greenfields and existing industrial low lands. It has been planned to respect the history and culture of Nanjing while also projecting a modern and sustainable image to the world. Nanjing’s plan is also meant to inspire future development around China while attracting corporations and showcasing China’s increased focus on sustainable cities.

Ten landmark towers, each referencing a traditional Chinese myth, are located throughout the area to bind the plan together. One of the towers is a 5-star hotel that was designed through an international competition. Each of the landmark towers will also be designed to meet LEED certifications. A monorail network will provide green transportation in between all of the towers and infrastructure.
