These oddly shaped, spindly lamps look like they’re about to crawl away, but don’t get spooked – they’ll stay in place. Designer Meghan Finkel‘s handmade lamps are crafted from fallen branches found along rivers and beaches after big storms, and they’re sure to add a dose of whimsy to any lackluster space.
After finding the perfect branch, Finkel strips the wood with a draw blade and uses a wire brush to scrape away any leftover bark. She then sands the wood for a smooth finish and primes the branches several times before a paint is applied in powder colors for a high gloss, lacquered finish.
