• Flathead Lake Cabin by Andersson Wise Architects
You would need to have a great sense of adventure and a deep love of nature to want to stay in a Montana cabin that has zero heating or cooling. But that's the point - at least for Andersson Wise Architects from Austin, who previously built an eco-lodge on Flathead Lake. The 600 square meter retreat sits amidst the Rocky Mountains, and is a wonderful place to relax, soak up the scent of Ponderosa pine trees, and watch birds of prey. But with very few amenities on offer, its certainly not for those looking to live in the lap of luxury.

It was important to disturb the site as little as possible, so timber was sawn off site

Sustainably sourced wood was designed for easy assembly once on site.
