The homeowner, a Japanese man, called for a design that is not only clean and minimalist, but that makes nature a focal point. With very little space to work with, <a href="http://www.i29.nl/">i29 Architects</a> solved the client's challenge by orienting the entire home towards a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/largest-green-wall-in-north-america-to-be-unveiled-tomorrow/">dramatic green wall</a>.

Home 06 was commissioned by a Japanese client living in Amsterdam.

He wanted something sleek and minimalist that also made nature a focal point.

i29 responded by orienting the entire one-floor home towards a leafy vertical garden.

Contrasted with the whitewashed interior, the wall makes a dramatic green statement.

This is the quintessential minimalist home.

The green wall is not only an attractive addition, but also acts as a carbon sink in Amsterdam.
