There’s nothing like the feeling of fresh cut grass under the toes, especially when stepping out of the shower. This Moss Carpet by Nguyen La Chanh brings the outside indoors in an unconventionally natural way by placing it underfoot. The lush green lawn thrives in humid environments, which makes your bathroom a perfect place to grow.
Chanh’s ingenious design is made from a decay-free foam called plastazote, and populated with three varieties of moss: ball, island, and forest. Maintenance required for this little patch of green is limited, as the moss thrives off of the humidity released from daily bathroom rituals. Who knew taking a shower could provide for such efficient multi-tasking, growing a little extra dose of green to start your morning or end your day.

You can get it from HoO design if you search for them on the web. The site is mostly in French but there is an English listing for the moss mat. With posting to the UK it costs around 101.20 euros
Sherrie, if you follow the link to Yanko Designs, and read the comments, the creator says there is just a prototype, with no plans to sell/manufacture it at this time. BUMMER! It’s such a cool idea….
Can someone “Please” help me find one to buy?! I have been looking for days. Thank You. sherrie
this could be a really awesome piece of art on the wall, but idk if i’d want to step on it because of any bugs? lol. It would look amazing on the wall though!!!
Does anybody know where i could buy this? it’s fantastic!
is it antimicrobial? also, i think my dog would try to pee on it. :S
Wow, a gift for the eco warrior who has everything.
I want one
@ lewis, Killbit: Healthy moss is very dense. There’s a fairly large patch in the backyard (in the shade, where the dryer vent is) that feels like walking on a thick stack of towels. It all ties together densely enough that nothing sticks to your feet – it’s literally carpet-like, but much softer. My only concern would be how much traffic a bath mat gets, and whether or not the moss could take that kind of wear.
I like the moss idea, just think that a bathmat is a bad implementation of it. I mean, if I just took a shower getting myself clean, the last thing I want to step on is moss and dirt.
Interesting find though
How do I get that bathmat?
Awesome way to put plants in your home but wouldn’t it dirty your feet?
that is awesome
Signed up just because of all the cool stuff you guys have ..thanks
