NC-Office has designed a new eco-luxe resort that trickles down a lush mountain onto the shores of the Lesser Antilles. Designed to integrate within the natural beauty of the tropical shoreline, the world class resort will be both ecologically and environmentally sustainable. Catering toward the local yachting industry, the resort will work to preserve the natural habitat while allowing visitors to enjoy the splendor of it.
The area around the resort is a volcanic region marked by a central plain and a bed of limestone. These geographic features meet to make a naturally picturesque landscape, populated with igneous boulders, rich plant life and a low forest met by the sea. The resort was designed to harmonize with the beauty of the region and utilize local sustainable materials.
The cottages and guest houses are each made from sustainably sourced greenheart wood, which echoes the texture and color of the surrounding environment. Overhanging pitched roofs provide deep shade and allow for natural circulation, diminishing the need for artificial climate control. The resort unfolds on tiers that climb the hillside, giving each level a spectacular view of the ocean.
Each of the guest accommodations was designed to offer different guest experiences – from deluxe villas to quaint cottages, all with garden access. Each is outfitted with sliding shutter windows and doors – allowing guests to connect with the outside or close off for privacy. An infinity pool gives guests a view of the sea, and a private beach for salt water swimming.
The complex blends with the natural flavor of the area, combining traditional architecture with land preservation for an ecologically luxurious vacation.
