Gallery: Cibicworkshop Showcases Green Building Techniques with “Cultiv...

Cultivating a House is a large-scale installation consisting of two houses built from sustainable materials by Cibicworkshop, a design research center that is based in italy. The two houses, which were presented at the MADE Expo 2012, are made of hemp and a dry construction system supported by metal frames. The house that is made out of hemp — a key element in Italy’s agricultural history — represents a way of building with natural materials. The dry-construction home presents an innovative construction system that enables builders build the home very quickly. All of the materials in the metal frame house are 100% recyclable.
