Gallery: Buy This 180 Sq. Ft. Manhattan Penthouse for Just $125K

But that might be expected in a luxury UES building with a 24-hour doorman building.

Douglas Elliman describes the 180 sq. ft. apartment as a “Small Penthouse Studio with a terrace in an elegant pre-war full service building just off Park Avenue”. Despite its tiny size, the studio is conveniently-located just two blocks from Central Park, and is actually twice the size of this woman’s place.

The one catch, that is if you don’t count the apartment’s meager proportions as a catch, is that the monthly maintenance is $1,716.98. But that might be expected in a luxury UES building with a 24-hour doorman building. At least you don’t have to spend too much money on furniture because a convertible couch is probably about all you can fit in here comfortably.

Does the monthly maintenance fee cover a savings account for roof repairs, etc. Are there ever assessments? What about water and heat?
    I am intrigued.

this was posted a few months ago. the monthly maintenance is absurd to the point that the article is not worth reading. shame on anyone who charges folks this kind of money, it is sin. and savvy new yorkers would opt instead to buy a larger place to live/share with others in order to afford the obscene cost of living in NYC.
