Upon its completion in early 2014, One World Trade Center will be one of the most sustainable office buildings in NYC and the developers are also endeavoring for it to achieve LEED Gold certification. The building, which was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merill uses recycled content building materials including sustainably-harvested wood and the construction debris from the site will also be recycled. 1 WTC will also have a fuel cell that will generate 4.8 million watts (MW), a rainwater collection system and recycling scheme for its cooling systems and will be heated largely by steam.

The new renderings of 1 WTC show it glinting from several vantage points including from Brooklyn and Staten Island. There are also images of the building’s plaza and lobby. Several companies have already signed up as tenants, including Condé Nast, which has leased nearly 1.2 million square feet on 25 floors bringing the percentage of the space currently leased to 55 percent.

good talk seems like a great conference. i liked seneig helpineedhelps thinking about consumers from consumer products and hellohealth thinking about providing consumers services. wouldn’t mind seneig the health 2.0 deepdive again if the video is post-eable.

Even in the renderings the building seems unfinished.Is it possible that we get just half of what we had?
