Michelle Inciarrano and Katy Maslow don’t just create any old terrariums, although these are challenging enough. Instead, they apply a little sense of humor and mischief to their miniature worlds. Examples of work included in the book are a desert oases with camels, a mad scientist lab inside a vintage beaker, and a beach side scene with sea glass and driftwood. In addition to photographs by Robert Wright, Katy and Michelle have included detailed instructions from how to choose a glass vessel to how to cultivate different miniature plants including moss and succulents.
The book will go on sale on May 1, 2012 and will cost $19,95 — you can preorder it here. While you’re waiting, check out their website and stay tuned for a special Twig DIY workshop, which the creative duo run out of their Brooklyn studio. We can’t wait to get our hands on what promises to be a very inspiring book so that we can start creating our own mini, green fantasy worlds!
Twig is celebrating the book’s release with a party at their Gowanus studios on April 13th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. You can find all the details here.
