Still making plans for New Year’s Eve? Why not brave the crowds of Times Square and help generate the power needed to light up the famous new year’s numerals! Duracell has been running their Smart Power Lab complete with Power Rovers, which are stationary bikes that anyone can hop on to generate renewable energy that will be used when the ball drops on New Year’s Eve.

    Or, maybe they could wire the machines at my local gym. All fitness goer would be powering the whole neighborhood :)

    Everyone should have one at home, hook the kids video games up to it so the games only come on if they are peddling. Would solve a lot.

    This is a such an excellent activity for families with kids. Teaching the new generation that renewable energy is here! How would your 2nd grader feel when he sees that the calories he put in the pedals was not lost but simply transformed into a something else?
