The creative minds at miniWIZ recently debuted the POLLI-Brick, a recycled polymer bottle that can be interlocked to build an incredible array of structures. Made from recycled PET bottles, the lightweight bricks offer excellent acoustic and thermal insulation and can build anything from fences and roofs to pots for plants, skylights and beautiful walls of light.

the polli brick is a brilliant idea. we should always promote recycling, i think it is one of the most important things to do. Miniwiz’s first product was very interesting too, they came out with the HYmini and it is a portable wind and solar charger. It is compatible with almost any 5v devices.
Dear Sir or Madam:
Your information is very useful to a country which wants to trun solar quick, like China. Recent oil price goes up and down, but all can see the world is giving up soon; even a rich country like U.S., President Obama vows to step up its process relying on solar. In order to walk faster, many areas are waiting to be change, to solar. your articles are helpful to its course. Can you introduce me some more solar article?
Sincerely yours,
Bob Chen
woah plastic buildings seem to be the next trend.
I think polli-brick is a very innovative idea. I like how the bricks interlock so the structure is strong.
I’m in taiwan visiting a friend, and i passed by the Expo construction site. The design of the building looks amazing.
I can’t believe that something so cool can be made of plastic.
I hope I can come to taiwan again to see and visit the finished building.
Sounds cool.
Does anybody know what the building looks like?
does it design for 2010 Shanghai Expo in China?
I have done some checking. No the Polli-Brick structure is in Taipei. There is a Flower Show in Taipei starting in one year. There is another international exhibition going on in Shanghai at about the same time. The Polli-Brick structure is called the Eco ARK Pavilion. Polli-Brick is used as an exterior curtain wall mostly. You can see pictures of what the bulding is supposed to look like in other forums. The article above talks about the benefits that Polli-Brick promises. But, now that there is a building being built, nobody is posting specifics about the big issues such as performance metrics, carbon footprint, cost, etc. Anybody who knows more should share! If Polli-
Brick delivers, as indicated in the article above (“POLLI-Bricks possess incredible thermal and sound insulating characteristics in addition to an awesome strength to weight ratio, which should make them a hit with architects and builders alike.”) then its a cool idea. Does anybody out there know details?
Hi, I realized you haven’t create an article for United Bottle. The concept is very similar, and I think it actually predates the POLLI-Bricks (can’t be sure though they haven’t provide much information). It’d be nice if you can get more info about it.
