Gallery: Pratt Students Design Eco-Friendly Office Furniture for West E...


Just yesterday the Pratt Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation and home furnishings company West Elm introduced their eco-friendly office collection. This amazing product line began with a competition between 12 of Pratt’s industrial design students. The group of students were split into two teams and were challenged to design a line of office furniture using FSC certified materials. The final review gave each team the opportunity to present their ingenious proposals to the West Elm design group, where the standout designs were selected for further development to realize the new concepts as full-size prototypes. The final gesture brought forth a wide-ranging collection that include a desk, chair, filing system and LED lamp!

    excuse me, johnschlong, sometimes that’s the way it works for OFFICES. imagine that. my whole office will order ONCE, & hopefully from a green dealer. stick your head in a recycling bin.
