Life-Size 300 Lb. Stormtrooper Cake Devoured by 600 Sci-Fi Geeks

How many sci-fi geeks does it take to devour a <a href="http://blog.oakleafcakes.com/stormtrooper-cake/">6-foot Stormtrooper cake</a>? 600, apparently! Attendees at last weekend's <a href="http://2012.arisia.org/">Arisa Sci-Fi convention </a>were joined by the life-size Star Wars character made of 300 lbs of delicious cake mix and icing. Carefully crafted by a nine-person team at <a href="http://oakleafcakes.com">Amanda Oakleaf Cakes</a>, the delightful desert was meticulously designed and assembled over two weeks, and thanks to the huge reception of awaiting fans, not a slice of the evil <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars">Star Wars</a> soldier went to waste.

The awesome design was dished up for attendees.

This enormous sweet offering was dished up after some serious strategic planning.

The team formed it's legs from Rice Krispies to make sure the figure kept his balance.

It looks like Amanda's team really went to town and faced the challenge.

They developed new methods of putting the cake together in modular pieces.

Although it probably all got real messy as the cake was carved up into slices, these photos show just how much effort went into making the evil character a sensation.

As everyone took a bite you could say he got his "just deserts".
