Gallery: Singapore’s Luminous i ...

This project is comprised of recycled materials and LED lights

The Urban Redevelopment Authority collaborated with Smart Light Singapore to build on the success of last year’s i Light festival. 30 of the most striking works by multidisciplinary artists from across Asia have been chosen out of 100 submissions, and they will be curated by Festival Director Mary-Anne Kyriakou, Charmaine Toh, a Singapore visual arts curator, and the team from the local award-winning design studio FARM.

Mark Goh, Deputy Director of URA’s Place Management Department, said in a press release that in addition to encouraging people to enjoy the city’s signature waterfront, “i Light Marina Bay also aims to promote the awareness and use of energy-efficient technology so that we can all play a part in creating a more sustainable urban environment.” Among last year’s most striking installations were a digital origami tiger, beautiful, illuminated plastic bottles, and an animal tree which stresses the importance of simplicity and emotions. Stay tuned for more information about this awesome event.
