Star Wars-Inspired Honda Chopper Concept is a Stormtrooper’s Dream

Peter Norris, who recently designed the <a title="Top Speed: Pininfarina Coupe Concept" href="http://www.topspeed.com/cars/pininfarina/2012-pininfarina-coupe-concept-ar109896.html" target="_blank">Pininfarina Coupe Concept</a>, has also been hard at work on this <a title="Inhabitat: electric motorcycle" href="../index.php?s=electric+motorcycle" target="_blank">electric motorcycle</a> concept called the Honda Chopper. Although the design is said to have been inspired by Star Wars, we think that this chopper could also fit right in to cyberpunk film Akira or even in Tron. The Honda Chopper has an extra long front <a title="Inhabitat: suspension" href="../index.php?s=suspension" target="_blank">suspension</a>, a feet-forward seating position, and <a title="Inhabitat: in-wheel electric motor" href="../index.php?s=in-wheel+electric+motor" target="_blank">in-wheel electric motors</a> for super-efficient (and fast!) travel.

Evoking the lines of a Storm Trooper's suit, the Honda Chopper Concept is just a few years too late to be featured in the Star Wars films themselves.

A long front suspension and feet-forward seating position make this a true chopper.

Are those booster rockets off the back? One can only hope this element of the design would make it to production, regardless of functionality.

An electric motor in each wheel powers this concept. The motors also lower the bike's center of gravity for improved handling.

The Star Wars inspiration is particularly evident from the front, where the white body elements come together over the elongated front suspension.

Honda spends generously on design and R&amp;D, so we can see this concept becoming reality in the near future -- at least the tech aspect.
