Building Trust International Unveils Winning School Design For Child Refugees in Burma

Through their School 4 Burma competition, <a href="http://www.buildingtrustinternational.org">Building Trust International </a>aimed to provide a transportable and modular educational facility for Burmese child migrants and refugees. The winning design came from Design by Amadeo Bennetta and Daniel Larossa.

As a result of volatile political upheaval and land laws in the region, many communities are forced into a transitional state.

As such, architects were asked to create a sustainable solution for the huge range of issues faced by displaced communities. This is one of the designs with 'Honourable Mention' was this one from Green Dwell.

The school was mobile and would withstand being deconstructed and rebuilt over time. Out of some 800 applicants another design that received an 'Honourable Mention' was this one from Liam Madden, Neil Ferries and Stephen Miles.
