Architect Berg Horemans of TAAT said that the Khor I theater is designed to be intimate yet open to the public. The space was established to invite guests to create their own performance by reading from wooden cubes. These are based on Buddhist prayer wheels that spin around, reflecting the way Buddhist worshipers rotate the prayer wheels around the temple. The script was written by Gert-Jan Stam, and in order to read it performers must move from one wheel to another in a dancing motion.

These independent ‘plays’ are performed without guidance, encouraging movement, meditation and freedom within the architectural space.
