Copper House by TAKTAustralian architecture firm TAKT completed Copper House, a tiny metal-clad beach house in Congee that mixes hand-made industrial elements with modern design. Situated on an extremely narrow and steep site, the Copper House steps down in three sections to follow the existing slope. Each level of the holiday retreat is topped by an asymmetrical butterfly roof that maximizes views and the warmth of the winter sun while maintaining a sense of privacy.1

Copper House by TAKTAlthough the Copper House serves the same holiday function as other beach bungalows, TAKT's choice of materials makes the structure stand out from the typical beach home.3
Copper House by TAKTInstead of a light-colored facade and wooden paneling, this beach house is clad in copper, black steel, and glass.4
Copper House by TAKTThe copper cladding was chosen as a response to the coastal location and, over time, will develop a weathered patina caused by the area's salty, humid conditions.5

Copper House by TAKTIn addition to the home's clean, sharp lines and modern furnishings, the house also exudes a handmade character in its details such as its leather clad front door handles.7
