The Mushiki storage system is a simple cabinet that has been inspired by a traditional Japanese cooking vessel. Designed by Spanish designer Tomas Alonso, the large, circular-shaped containers are constructed from sustainable bamboo reminiscent of its inspiration, or an Indian tiffin box. Modular in make, you can stack one upon the other to form one very smart and stylish storage unit.
What we love about the Mushiki cabinet is its simple style fused with versatile functionality. A wooden spine like hinge provides an anchor from which various modules can be stacked and splayed any which way you choose.
Hide away your magazines, display a precious collection or simply swing out a module as a handy spot to rest your coffee cup.

Joe Columbo did this in the 1970s and then it was and then Gricic re-did it again in another color in the 1980s, must be time for the noughties revival. This is just another ‘looks a bit like’ design from a ‘makes things that look a bit like’ designer.
