Gallery: The Solar Kanz Field Power Desk Lets You Work Off-Grid Anywher...

Escape the office and break free from the grid with the Kanz Field Power Desk – a compact, mobile, free-standing solar-powered desk that lets you work anywhere you like! The unit comes complete with GoalZero solar panels, high-efficiency lithium-ion batteries and a flexible desktop light.

The Kanz Field Power Desk also contains a dedicated charging drawer which allows the user to gain easy access to the recessed charging strip, which is normally stored away to make room for the desktop. The internal charging strip also provides 12V and 5V outputs for various electronic devices.

The desk also comes in two different models: the Field Power Desk 120 and the Field Power Desk 240. The Field Power Desk 120 has a built-in 120Watt/hours GoalZero Sherpa 120 power pack which delivers 3 hours of extra life for your laptop and even more for your camera, video, and portable DVD player. It also has a mono-crystalline 20W solar panel which recharges the power pack in 6 hours of full sun and only weights a mere 37 lbs.

Meanwhile, the Field Power Desk 240 has two built-in 240Watt/hours GoalZero Sherpa 120 power packs which deliver 6 hours of extra life for your laptop, has three included mono-crystalline 20W solar panel which recharges the power pack in 4 hours. The free-standing desk unit is also made of quality materials including a Baltic birch interior encased in a marine grade aluminum housing. The unit’s hard anodized end cups also provide extra impact protection and add to the high aesthetics of the product. The Field Power Desk also comes with a variety of adaptors and chargers.

Working out in the sun, anywhere, anytime without needing the mains to charge my laptop? I’m sold! But at $2,495, unfortunately it’s a tad outside my price range.
