The VentureOne 3-Wheeled Hybrid Vehicle

by , 11/13/07

What’s more in vogue than a 4-wheel hybrid? A 3-wheel sleek and sustainable three-wheeler with all the hybrid technologies. The VentureOne, from Venture Vehicles, is the latest to fit this mold of a sexier, smaller and more efficient fuel vehicle for two.

Very sleek, and 100 mpg too! As a motorcyclist, I love seeing things like this, and I thought their Carver was a very cool machine. This looks like you get all the good things about riding a motorcycle without the bad things like riding in the rain.

A very cool and sustainable concept. It’s certainly the perfect vehicle for the city but looks like you can have fun on the highway as well. It actually reminds me on another concept car: the Clever. It’s a concept car engineered in Germany and looks almost the same as the VentureOne. The Clever is especially developed as an urban transportation concept and as the name says is low emission. If you want to know more and see pictures go to this link:

This is a fantastic concept that’s not entirely new, but looks like it may, unlike previous versions, actually hit the market in the U.S. The question is, how much will it cost? I’m sure many bike enthusiasts (especially those whose wives wont let them buy a bike ;) ) would be interested, but if it’s the same price, or more, than a Kia or a Hyundai, you can bet most people with families will choose the larger vehicle, despite it’s lower fuel economy. $10-11k, I’ll buy it for sure as a second vehicle.
This vehicle and others like it have a ton of potential, and I hope the big automakers see that and take note instead of trying to “snuff out the competition” like they’re want to do. Someone tell the execs in Detroit about this — a serious, revolutionary, fuel-efficient transport is what they need to pull out of their slump!

Please could you keep me informed as to where and when these will be available for test driving. Is there any plans for an open top or removable top?

Lets see, a three wheeled vehicle that leans. Engine over the back wheels. Passesger weight up front. Not trailaing suspension. ABS and traction control I hope. Here is a hint. What is the basic law of physics?

Shame you didn’t include any of the videos. What sold me on this was the HUGE grins that everyone test driving it had – I loved the top gear test drives. I found it through another site where they commented that it’s been entered in an alternative fuel vehicle competiton being run in 2009/2010, so I’d imagine they’d have it available by then. I blogged this a couple weeks ago at http://alternativevehiclesreport.net if you want to find the you tube links…

Being in Australia, we don’t have Carver OR Venture, so even though I really, really, REALLY want one, I had to settle for the videos. I can’t help but end up grinning by the end of them, even if it is only gratuitous fun!
