Ty-Hedfan is a beautiful partially-buried home in Wales that is modeled after the traditional longhouse. Constrained by building regulations in this verdant plot just outside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Featherstone Young created a cantilevering wing that houses most of the living functions and hovers over the riverbank. A second sunken wing has a soft green roof that acts as an extension of the surrounding landscape.
