Ty-Hedfan is a Partially-Buried Welsh Longhouse Near the Brecon Beacons National Park

Ty-Hedfan is a beautiful partially-buried home in Wales that is modeled after the traditional longhouse. Constrained by building regulations in this verdant plot just outside of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brecon_Beacons">Brecon Beacons National Park</a>, <a href="http://www.featherstoneyoung.com">Featherstone Young</a> created a cantilevering wing that houses most of the living functions and hovers over the riverbank. A second sunken wing has a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/green-roof/">soft green roof</a> that acts as an extension of the surrounding landscape.
