WikiHouse places emphasis on using locally-sourced materials in a design that is easy to construct so that just about anyone can build their own home. Notice that the designers at La Rinascente aren’t using any power tools. Instead, all of the cut pieces are laid out on the floor like a jigsaw puzzle and gradually put together sans bolts – a process that requires minimum skill.

Once the structure is erected, it is ready for insulation, cladding, sealing and services. WikiHouse operates under the creative commons license and encourages people to share solutions widely and based on their unique climatic conditions. If you want to design and share your own home, check out the WikiHouse website and join their growing community.
