Gallery: Windsor Fire Station #2 Achieves LEED Gold Certification


The City of Windsor’s new Fire Station just achieved LEED Gold Certification, ensuring a healthy and productive work environment for the city’s firefighters. The new fire station exceeds baseline ASHRAE performance by 30%, generates 15.3% of its energy on-site through renewable sources, and features ample daylighting and views in all interior spaces. During construction more than 80% of the waste was diverted, and a bio-swale drainage retention system was implemented, along with water-efficient landscaping, water conserving fixtures, and dedicated bicycle storage.
