ZuiderzeewegThe Zuiderzeeweg is an innovative flexible student housing project in Amsterdam designed by Netherlands-based Fact Architects. The prefab modular housing project was built to be temporary and can be transported to a new location if the need arises. The housing project was designed to be durable and sustainable, which allows it to remain robust and functional even if it gets transferred to a new location.1
ZuiderzeewegThe student housing project is made up of high-quality, modular housing blocks that are stacked on top of each other to form six block buildings.2
ZuiderzeewegThe five-story buildings are arranged along with grass walls to enclose a large courtyard with lawns and an orange sports field.3
ZuiderzeewegBike parking is placed along the road, and a light rail stop is situated close by for easy access to public transportation.4
ZuiderzeewegConcrete blocks are placed near the entrance and serve as extra outdoor seating.5
ZuiderzeewegA durable facade of black wood envelops the housing project, orange text accents the exterior, and each 31 sq meter housing unit enjoys a private balcony.6
ZuiderzeewegFact Architects designed the 335 prefab units specifically so they are prepared for future environmental requirements.7
