Gorgeous Eco-Lodge Built on Flathead Lake in Montana

    We may have just found your dream vacation spot at the rustic, but modern eco-lodge of Stone Creek Camp on Flathead Lake, Montana. Designed by <a href="http://www.anderssonwise.com/" target="_blank">Andersson Wise Architects</a>, the absolutely gorgeous architecture of this fishing camp and lodge will have you dreaming of lazy days atop its decks overlooking the lake, with a cup of tea on one hand, a good book in the other. As eco-friendly as it is beautiful, green features abound throughout the entire complex, including a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/2010/08/13/green-renovation-adds-a-modern-touch-to-historic-austrian-barn/" target="_blank">stacked wood facade</a> built from fallen trees on site, a <a href="../green-roof/" target="_blank">green roof</a> and an integrated, energy efficient design.

    Stone Creek Camp is a 15 acre compound located on Flathead Lake in Bigfork, Montana. It includes a house, guest house, lodge, kitchen, laundry facilities, garage, a dock and more.

    The Lake House is the main residence and is a stunning piece of architecture with a stacked cordwood wall and green roof.

    The stacked wall is featured on both the interior and exterior of the house and the Douglas Fir wood was found on site.

    The buildings were designed by Texas-based Andersson Wise Architects and they even renovated the original 1940's cabin.

    All of the buildings feature energy efficient design using super tight insulation, high performance windows, radiant floor heating and cold roof systems to prevent ice dams.

    Most of the materials for camp, including the windows, stone, siding, and doors were all found and sourced regionally.

    The camp's Lodge includes a living room, dining room, gym, storage and craft rooms as well as a large screened in porch.

    The living room opens onto a deck overlooking the lake which is large enough to host dinner parties.

    The Tree House also functions as three additional guest rooms and a large seating area downstairs, which can open up to the outdoors through a large sliding barn door.

    The main kitchen features tall ceilings, wood paneling and a bright interior and will definitely inspire one to cook.

    Outside the kitchen is a large grassy area with a barbecue grill for outdoor meals.

    The kitchen is located in a separate building next to the laundry facilities and are designed for a private chef, caterer and additional staff to use.
